Dear,

Welcome to the second newsletter for ‘Harm Reduction 2009: IHRA’s 20th International Conference’. These newsletters are designed to keep you up to date with the latest information, news and announcements in the build up to this major five-day event in Bangkok, Thailand from the 19th to the 23rd April 2009. The conference website is updated regularly – and includes the online registration and abstract submission systems – so please visit www.ihraconferences.net whenever you can.

Best Regards,

The Conference Team

Abstract Submission: Three Weeks to Go!
There are just under three weeks remaining till the abstract submission system for Harm Reduction 2009 closes on November 10th. The conference programme depends on your quality submissions in order to maintain the high standards of the past few years and we welcome abstracts on a wide range of topics – especially innovative harm reduction services, ground-breaking research, successful advocacy campaigns or harm reduction policies. Abstracts only need to be 300 words long and are submitted through a simple online process. We have also created a ‘Guide for Developing and Submitting an Abstract’ to assist you further.

Group Discounts Announced
Due to the success of previous conferences – and continued re-investment by the conference organisers – the delegate fees for Harm Reduction 2009 have been kept at the same level as (or reduced from) recent years. In addition, we are also delighted to offer a discount to groups and organisations wishing to register ten or more delegates for the conference.

In addition, a host of organisations have enlisted as ‘supporters’ – including UNAIDS, UNODC, UNICEF, UNESCO, the World Health Organisation, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights, the Irish Centre for Human Rights, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance, Health & Development Networks, Family Health International, and Recovering Nepal.
