	June 6th - 8th UN Human Rights Council, 17th Session Geneva, Switzerland The UNPO will attend the 17th UN Human Rights Council session deliver an oral statement under Agenda Item 6, Report of the Working Group on the Universal Periodic Review of Rwanda. UNPO will highlight its concern regarding Rwanda’s non-ratification of ILO Convention 169 regarding Indigenous and Tribal Communities, which is linked to the non-recognition of the existence of minorities and indigenous peoples, in particular the Batwa.

	June 7th Khmer Kampuchea Krom Delegation to meet with UN Officials Geneva, Switzerland UNPO will facilitate and organize meetings for a visiting Khmer Krom delegation to meet with the Office of the Independent Expert on Minorities Issues and a leading representative of the UNHCR Asian desk to discuss the situation of the evolution of dire human rights abuses in Vietnam involving Khmer Krom prisoners.

	June 9th William Zartman Lecture at Leiden University Leiden, The Netherlands UNPO will attend the lecture of Dr. I William Zartman, Professor of International Organizations and Conflict Resolution at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Meeting of the European Parliament’s Sub-Committee on Human Rights Strasbourg, France Exchange of views with Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Thomas Hammarberg.

	June 12th World Day against Child Labour (International Labour Organization) Worldwide Commemoration of James Moy Balao’s 1000th Day of Enforced Disappearance Worldwide Co-founder of the Cordillera Peoples Alliance (CPA), James Moy Balao disappeared in September 2008 and the CPA is encouraging friends around the world to join them in a renewed fight to pressure the new government to present facts in the case. 	June 13th - 17th Khmer Kampuchea-Krom Delegation Brussels, Belgium A delegation led by Mr. Thach, Chairman of the Khmer Kampuchea-Krom Federation will have meetings with representatives from the European External Action Service, the European Parliament and Permanent Representations of EU member states.

	June 14th - 15th 31st EP-China Inter-Parliamentary Meeting Brussels, Belgium Meeting of the European Parliament’s Sub-Committee on Human Rights Brussels, Belgium Meeting of the European Parliament’s Committee on Development Brussels, Belgium

	June 14th - 16th EU-China Human Rights Dialogue Beijing, China Meeting between EU and China officials, the meeting will focus on minority rights, highlighting individual cases of detentions and unfair trials as well as more thematic issues. A visit to East Turkestan and Kashgar might be included in the program. 	June 15th - 17th SpeakOut! The Hague, the Netherlands Advocacy training for young human rights activists and young Dutch professionals working in the field of human rights aimed at developing a deeper understanding of advocacy work as well as to build networks with other groups and activists. The participants will take part in workshops on budgeting, fundraising, working with media, lobbying within the UN system and much more.

	June 17th World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought (UNCCD) Worldwide This year’s World Day will focus on the important role of forests in dry land areas with the motto “Forests keep Drylands Working”.

	June 20th World Refugee Day Worldwide Meeting of the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with Iran Brussels, Belgium Exchange of views with the Ambassador of Iran to Brussels.

	June 20th - 21st West Balochistan Delegation Brussels, Belgium A delegation led by Mr. Abdul Nasser Boladai, spokesperson of the Balochistan People’s Party, will meet with representatives from different EU institutions, following earlier meetings organised by the UNPO.

	June 21st Joint Meeting of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Security and Defence Brussels, Belgium

	June 22nd EU Trainee Visit to the UNPO The Hague, the Netherlands A group of young trainees from European institutions will make a study visit to the UNPO to learn more about the organization and our work.
