At the 2007 Ministerial Council Meeting in Madrid, Kazakhstan´s Foreign Minister promised the participating states that his country would implement far-reaching domestic reforms before assuming the chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in 2010.
Only months away from the start of Kazakhstan´s term, which obligations have been fulfilled? Which have been neglected? Is there hope for a real human rights agenda in Kazakhstan?
At this event, sponsored by the Open Society Institute and Freedom House, leading Kazakhstani civil society activists will discuss the status of human rights in Kazakhstan.
Light refreshments will be served.
